Sabbath and Jeffrey

What can I say, I love my nephews. This is Jeffrey (above)...the newest edition to the family (he joined last year). Funny. I can't see our lives without him. He's such a personality.

My sister and I are crazy. We have nothing but photos of the dogs in our phone. We love them so much and proud to show them off.

If it wasn't for Sabbath (below and named after Black Sabbath), we wouldn't have started this chihuahua craze. Before him, we were not that fond of smaller dogs. Growing up, we had golden retrievers in the family so anything smaller seemed weird.

My dad ALWAYS loved nothing but chihuahuas and I remember I used to tell him I didn't like that breed because they were too small. Enjoy the rest of the photos of my nephews!

Happy days

Words cannot explain how much love I have for my 2 sons. They give me so much love and joy. Yes, I spoil them and they deserve every bit of it!

I wish I could upload photos from the bbq birthday shin dig I had over the weekend with my friends but my computer is down so I can't download any of my digital photos. My girl Mariana and I celebrated our birthday together last weekend. She turned the big 3-0 and I turned 37! Eek!

Anyhoo, here are some photos of dinner I did on the actual day of my birthday with my honey, sister and her husband. We finally went to check out Poor House Bistro and it was awesome! The food was great and there was open mic night so we got to listen to some super chill music!

My sister took an awesome photo of Carlos!

Love that the weather is starting to warm up and my cacti love it! Flowers starting to bloom!

SCUBA

I just posted this same thing on the E7S blog but figured to repost on my own personal blog as well. ...

Sandra and Crockett made a visit to E7S on Sunday to show some of the older and newer work. We met them a couple years ago just outside of SF's Renegade Craft Faire and saw the amazing talent in their collaborative pieces. Bought some of their work and I've been following them ever since. Last week Sandra sent out a email saying they were selling some of their work and I jumped on it!

Carlos bought me a buncha of their pieces for my upcoming birthday. Yipee!

Carlos and I will let you know when they'll showcase in San Jose! These guys are definitely someone to watch.
Their next show is in Portland. For more info:

Last week, Carlos, Pat, Katie and I went to have Ethiopian food at Mundai. So delicious! We ordered a vegetarian dish that had the most tasty beans and a lamb dish!

Sweet things

I love my mom. She's such a beautiful person inside and out. As cliche as it sounds, I admire her for everything she's done in her lifetime and continue to show my sister and I. She's a strong woman and because of her, my sister and I have grown up to be the great women we are now.

There's a awesome little place inside the Korean market for affordable and quick Korean food! The market is located off El Camino and Lawrence. I know it might sound gross to most people but I ordered the hot dish with rice, veggies and fish eggs. MMM!

My girlfriend Mariana and I share the same exact birthdate! To celebrate, we're having a joint fiesta birthday bbq at her house in a couple weeks. I bought these plates on sale from Party City and got some tissue paper to create papel picado (paper banners) and flowers...

Homies, lowriders and photography at Cukui. Photography by Trevor Traynor still up, check it out. It's a great show!

Art and Food

Hello...

Pineapple chili sauce drumsticks with parmesan/cheeze-it cracker topped mac n cheese!

Button display we created. First sets of buttons Nancy and I made with our new button makin' machine!

Finished paintings in time for the San Jose Made show.

Paintings in progress....

Treats my guy made from stuff we got at the Campbell Farmer's Market.

I really love the Campbell Roasting Company's food and coffee. One Sunday morning, Carlos and I picked up Nancy and Vu to go to the Farmer's Market. We stopped by to get some coffee and breakfast. I had the BEST vanilla latte with a cheese bagel!

Goodie finds from the Farmer's market! MMM!

Vu, Nancy and I....

The best place to get late night sandwiches late night! It's a vietnamese owned liquor store called Campbell Liqour & Deli, which is located diagonally from the On the Corner Record shop in Campbell (on Campbell Ave).

Steal my heart

For those who don't know, this is my lil' Zephyr. I got him when he was about 6 months old (photo below) and now he's 6 years old! How time flys. He's a little warrior as he's been through some health issues in 2010. I was so terrified not knowing what could potentially happen. He's been off his meds since last Fall and so far doing great ("knock on wood").

I dread the thought of when he'll be gone one day. The best thing I can do is to continue to give him the best life he could ever have!

About 3 years ago, my boyfriend and I got Revs (to the left below). My sister, her husband and Sabbath (their dog) moved out so I wanted to get a brother for Zephyr. Revs is definitely a bundle of energy. We don't know his exact breed since he was rescued. Zephyr wasn't too sure what to make of a new edition to our home but it didn't take long before the two became best friends.

Below is a painting I did for my sister as a birthday gift. His name is Sabbath. Growing up my dad LOVED chihuahuas....my sister and I didn't really care for this breed but little did we know this would change. Sabbath is the first chihuahua that became a part of our family. It's because of him, the chihuahua family grew.

The newest edition to my sister and her husband's family is Jeffrey. Below is a second painting I did for my sis' birthday gift.

Some randomness....

Below is a photo of my step-grandfather in college football. Pretty cool, eh? We think he's the one on the lower left sitting down.

Some donuts I made for my sister's birthday dinner with the gals.

Progress of my Jeff painting while my boyfriend is playing video games.
